Red Raw Rice Polished

A variety of rice grown in Kerala, India with long, fluffy, lustrous texture grains with a natural red colour within it’s bran where the colour specifically comes from an antioxidant called anthocyanin. It is aromatic, has a great taste and a nutty flavour. Helps in weight loss and controlling diabetes. It has 10 times more antioxidants than brown rice. The very earthy flavour of red matta rice goes very well with lamb, beef or goat meats.

Cooking Method & Health Benefits

For 1 cup of Red Raw Rice polished add 2 and a half cups of water to a boil. After the water reaches a boil, reduce to simmer add the rice and leave to cook until tender for 30-40 minutes. After done allow it to rest for 5 minutes. Red Raw Rice need not be soaked. But if you want to, cut down the cooking time.

Note: If the cooked Rice is too hard, then use more water and if the same is too soft, use less water
